Internship of young colleagues from Czestochowa

From February 26, 2023, to March 11, 2023, PhD. students, studying at the Doctoral School of the Jan Długosz University, took part in a scientific internship at the Polymer Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Three PhD students in chemical sciences: MSc. Jakub Łagiewka (2nd year), MSc. Paulina Kapuśniak (1st year), MSc. Izabela Szymanek (1st year); expanded their knowledge and skills in the field of research on polymeric materials under the care of the organizer Dr. Alena Opálková Šišková. The scientific internship was organized as part of the PROM program organized by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund under the Operational Program Knowledge Education Development.

During the scientific internship, they were active participants in research conducted on electrospinning of selected polymers under the supervision of Alena Opálková Šišková and Anita Eckstein, synthesis and characterization of hydrogels under the supervision of Jozef Kollár and polymers thin films under the supervision of Katarína Mosnáčková. In addition, they took part in the scientific workshop of the Department of synthesis and characterization of polymer, where the staff warmly welcomed them.

As they said: “The friendly atmosphere in the research team and the significant research capabilities of the unit allowed us to get new knowledge and skills. Additionally, we met scientists from Bratislava with whom we may establish international cooperation, which may result in interesting scientific projects”. PhD. students appreciate the institution as an interesting research and science center to which they would gladly return.
