Postdoctoral Position

Department of Polymer Synthesis and Characterization

Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the field of physical chemistry, with a focus on thermal analysis of polymeric and composite materials.
The successful candidate will participate in national and international research projects focused on characterizing the thermal behavior and stability of materials used in various types of applications.

We are looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher with a PhD in chemistry or a related discipline, eager to conduct research in polymer degradation and stabilization.
Independent thinking, strong experimental planning skills, teamwork, good written and oral communication, and proficiency in English are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) and TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis) measurements
  • Evaluating the thermal properties of polymers, hybrid materials, and nanocomposites
  • Analyzing degradation kinetics and phase transitions in advanced materials
  • Publishing results in high-impact scientific journals and presenting research at international conferences
  • Collaborating within an interdisciplinary and international research team

Required Qualifications

  • Expertise in thermal analysis techniques (DSC, TGA, DMA); experience with FTIR and GC-MS is an advantage
  • PhD (3rd level education) in Physical Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and independent research skills, with solid data analysis capabilities
  • Proven publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Researcher / Analytical Chemist Position

Description:
We are looking for a motivated and qualified analytical chemist (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD level) to join our team.
The position focuses on separation methods, including GPC/SEC, HPLC (with UV-Vis, RI, and ELSD detectors), and GC.
The successful candidate will work on national and international projects related to the characterization of polymeric materials developed at the Institute, as well as contract research for external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of available analytical infrastructure (Agilent, Shimadzu, Knauer, Hitachi instruments)
  • Calibration of systems, sample preparation, formal analysis, and data processing
  • Providing technical support for researchers in liquid chromatography
  • Contribution to publications, report preparation for contract research, and participation in national and international conferences
  • Working within an interdisciplinary and international team

Required Qualifications

  • University degree (1st–3rd level) in Analytical Chemistry or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with HPLC and GPC systems is essential
  • Experience with analytical software (e.g. Clarity, Astra, Agilent OpenLab) is an advantage
  • Strong analytical thinking, ability to work independently, and expertise in data processing
  • English language proficiency (minimum B1 level)
